LGBTQ Programs and Events

Events and programs focusing on LGBTQIA+ concerns, culture, and identities are held all year on campus. The LGBTQ Resource Center staff provides various services to campus and community members. 

Here are a few highlights:

MON OCT. 2 

LGBTQ+ History Month Kickoff
Pride March to the Kick-Off with Saluki Rainbow Network at 5 pm in front of the
Communications Building. Featuring remarks by Dr. Paul Frazier, Vice Chancellor
for Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and an address by Wil Clark,
President of the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Council.

Panel discussion on the reproductive care crisis, presented by the Women,
Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.

Black N' Queer Roundtable
The first roundtable of the school year, entitled “Where Do We Go?”

Rainbow Family Day 
Go along for a hayride with your chosen family, explore the corn maze with
some friends, shoot off the corn cannon, and enjoy some hot apple cider and
caramel apples! There’ll even be a play barn for the kiddos, so bring your entire
queer family! Bring your own money for tickets, drinks, and/or snacks.

Transition Your Closet
Need some new clothes? Changing your gender presentation or style? Shop for
free in this clothes closet event! The Career Development Center will be offering
free resume checks and handouts for LGBTQIA+ students entering the workforce.

Councilmember Clare Killman
Come listen to Clare Killman, the first transgender person ever elected to city
council in Illinois, speak about the importance of civic engagement. Afterward,
